Our Goal: To Take Care of Cats Rescued
Our Rescue Journey
New Hope Rescue Ranch was founded in the beginning of 2013. The goal has always been to help save more cats. As of 2026 we have stopped all intake. Our population is now mostly seniors and hospice, and we have decided to give all our attention and care to the cats we currently have. Cats are allowed to mingle indoors, cage-free, with other cats and to enjoy the outdoors (if they so desire) in a ½ acre enclosure surrounded by a “cat fence” to keep them safe. Cats are quarantined when necessary and a mobile vet visits one time a week or more when needed. After rescuing for a long time, we now know it is time to phase out of rescue. It has been an exhausting, heartbreaking journey, but we are happy to have helped as many cats as we have and wish more people got involved by donating, volunteering and supporting other worthwhile rescues. Sad stories and unwanted cats and kittens won’t stop on Long Island until municipalities and individuals commit to spaying and neutering feral cats and cats. If there was no overpopulation, there would be no problem. It is a simple equation that too many people have ignored. We have tried to help as much as we can, but the problem has only worsened.
